I am utterly bewildered and overwhelmed. I am struggling my way around the book exhibition at an ELT conference. What a bombardment of books! ‘How do teachers even begin to choose?’ I ask myself.

A few years ago I had a break from ELT and had some catching up to do. As I read through the ELT journals I am struck by the multitude of exciting ideas on offer and the wealth of ‘good practice’ available. And I ask myself that same question again: How do we teachers even begin to make choices about what to do in the classroom?

Spring ‘22 Virtual International Publishers Exhibition

One thing these past two years have made us realise is the great potentials technology is serving us. People managed to preserve communication under rough conditions and restrictions and that is an asset we simply can not ignore.

On the 7th and 8th of May, the Spring 22 Virtual IPE will open its virtual gates from 10:00 to 18:00 (EEST - Athens Greece Time Zone) connecting the Foreign Language professionals globally.

WHAT is a Learning Diary? To begin discussing this question, we will define a Foreign Language Learning Diary as a journal, record or diary of what one has listened to, viewed, read, discussed or written in the target language.  The diary is a personal document but can be shared with the learner’s instructor and/or fellow classmates.

ANSWER:   A reasonable amount of regular homework, which mainly consists of  written reinforcement of what has been practised orally in class,  is essential to language learning.  It is good practice to remind learners of all ages that, in order to get the most out of their entire language learning experience, they need to spend twice as much of their time working on English outside of class as they do in class.  For example,  if   language learners are committed to meeting with a teacher three times per week, i.e.

Σαν επιχειρηματίας, είστε, πιθανότατα, φύσει αισιόδοξος άνθρωπος. Και ακόμη και αν δεν είστε αισιόδοξος είστε σίγουρα ρεαλιστής (αν δεν είστε ούτε αισιόδοξος ούτε ρεαλιστής φοβάμαι ότι το επιχειρείν δεν είναι για εσάς).
