Il lavoro di coppia. Le attività da svolgere collaborando con i compagni, all’interno di una coppia o di un gruppo, sono indispensabili in ogni manuale moderno, quindi anche quando si ha a che fare con adolescenti. Gli studenti imparano l’uno dall’altro, si aiutano a vicenda, soprattutto davanti a un’attività impegnativa, sono loro al centro della lezione senza la presenza dominante dell’insegnante e non si preoccupano tanto di eventuali errori: come si sa la mancanza del fi ltro affettivo è benefi ca a livello motivazionale, visto che potenzia l’acquisizione.

QUESTION:
When I attempt to hold whole class discussion, even though class size is not large, I encounter problems in engaging most learners to participate. There are three major problems: 1) not all learners speak because certain individuals dominate, 2) no matter how familiar the subject, there seems to always be a vocabulary “shortage” and 3) most learners want to talk only to the teacher. . .or better yet, listen to the teacher.
